Annual Parish Meeting

Join us on January 21st for ONE service at 9:30am. Following this service we will come together for a Pot Luck brunch and our Annual Parish meeting. This meeting is a great way for us to hear the business of COTM, what has happened in the past year, and what is ahead in 2018. We will also be electing 2 new vestry members. Please mark your calendars!

Following the meeting there will be an all parish fellowship brunch (pot-luck). Brunch items, finger foods, or beverages needed! To help smooth the transition between meeting and meal, please consider bringing a dish that is easily heated or able to be kept at room-temperature. A sign up sheet can be located in the narthex starting this week. If you are unable to sign up prior to the meeting, please email Holly Tomlin (htomlin412@yahoo.com) with the dish you would like to contribute and how many in your family will be attending. Thank you!!

If anyone would like to help after the 9:30am service with set-up of the brunch, please see Holly Tomlin.

Ash Wednesday Services

Ash Wednesday
Most public events have some special ceremony to mark their beginning. For Lent this beginning is Ash Wednesday (Feb. 14th). Each church member is encouraged to make plans to be in church on that day. The Prayer Book refers to it as a day of “observance by special acts of discipline and self-denial” (p. 17)

At 12 P.M. and 7:30 P.M. we will gather to participate in the unique Ash Wednesday Liturgy, to receive the sacred ashes on our foreheads (if you are so accustomed), and to celebrate Holy Communion. Through confessing our sins and receiving assurance of God’s unconditional forgiveness and pardon through the words of Absolution, the barrier between us and Him will be removed. We can go home knowing that we are indeed forgiven and in fellowship with Him. Please make plans to join us for this holy observance.

All are invited! Please share this event with your friends and family!

Sharon Bowen's Funeral

Our church was deeply saddened by the loss of our sister-in-Christ, Sharon Bowen. Her loss has been felt by all who knew and loved her. Please keep her family in prayer as they grieve this loss. Our church family will miss Sharon more than words can express. We rest assured in knowing that she is in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Comfort us, O Lord. You have assured us of Your power over death in Christ Jesus. When you beckoned Lazarus out of the tomb, You proved that Your Word has the power to give eternal life. In our time of mourning, beckon us out of the pit of despair and into hope in Christ Jesus. Shine Your light of eternal life into our darkness so that we may see our way out of this sad time. Amen. (Portals of Prayer).
———————————————-
Sharon Bowen's funeral will be held this coming Saturday, January 13th, at 12:00pm. Everyone is invited to attend.

The family has requested that all those attending wear something with lavender or royal purple, as this was Sharon's favorite color.

Thursday Evening Women's Book Study

What do you see in the mirror? Do you like the reflection? Many of us don't, but perhaps that's because we don't see ourselves the way God does- as His dear children.

The eight lessons in Mirror, Mirror encourage you to dig into Scripture, ask you to make personal application of God's Word to your own life, and help you see yourself as He sees you: His beloved, redeemed daughter.

All women are welcome to join us as we delve into this book study- We will meet every other Thursday on the second floor of Wegmans to have time of fellowship, refreshement, and study. Please share as this event is open to the community! Even if you cannot make the group, we will open an online group on Facebook to discuss the book throughout the week. Whatever your schedule, feel free to pick up a copy of this book to read and discuss with your fellow sisters in Christ!
